The idea for Soxeteer was born in NYC in 2005. My husband Sam and I were driving down Northern Blvd in Queens and brainstorming on how to start our own business. We thought it would be fun to have a place that offered a variety of novelty socks for the whole family. After looking around we saw there was a shortage of places such as these and most places offered mainly quantity not quality or variety. Shortly after that, we took a trip to California to visit my family and decided to approach the most popular local malls to inquire about starting a small sock kiosk. We learned there were no openings at the time but Sam pestered one of them until they finally gave in. We were told there was an opening but we had to open in 2 weeks!!! Suddenly we found ourselves scrambling for merchandise and heading off to San Diego.

We opened in Fashion Valley Mall on March 11, 2006 and sold a few dozen socks. Little by little we increased our vendors to offer more and more variety to our customers. And we were a hit! We established friendships with many of our new customers who were thrilled to discover our socks were perfect gifts. By Christmas we were selling hundreds and hundreds of socks per day. But one of the most rewarding things is as one customer put it, "You make people smile all day long". At present we are in the process of manufacturing our own designs and in 2007 we unveilied our very own baby sock collection. These designs are made of the finest Egyptian cotton and our hope is that we will continue to make people smile.
